GCash to Maya Transfer (and Maya to GCash): Steps, Fees and Limits
You can send money from GCash to Maya, or from Maya to GCash, inside either app. Both wallets send to each other over InstaPay, the real-time transfer system supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). GCash charges PHP 10 per transfer since 4 July 2026. Maya does not publish a fee for Maya Wallet transfers, so the amount you see on its review screen is the one that counts. Every InstaPay transfer is capped at PHP 50,000.
This page covers the steps in both directions, what each wallet actually publishes about fees and limits, and why a transfer sometimes fails even when you have the balance. It does not cover gambling inside either app, because that option no longer exists (more on that below).

How to Transfer From GCash to Maya
GCash's Help Center lists two ways. Both end in the same InstaPay transfer.
With the Maya account number:
- Open GCash and tap Transfer, then Local.
- Choose Maya from the logos, or tap View All to find it.
- Enter the amount, the account name and the account number.
- Tap Send Money, review the details, and tap Confirm.
With a Maya QR code:
- Tap Transfer, then Local, then Scan/Upload Bank QR.
- Scan the recipient's Maya QR. The account details fill in automatically.
- Enter the amount, tap Send Money, review and confirm.
GCash says the PHP 10 fee applies to each transfer, and tells users to update the app so the lower fee shows. GCash describes its Bank Transfer feature as reaching "over 40 local banks and e-wallets", and BSP's list of InstaPay participants, dated 31 August 2026, includes both Maya Philippines and Maya Bank.
How to Transfer From Maya to GCash
Maya's own Bank Transfer guide gives these steps:
- Log in to Maya and tap Bank Transfer.
- Select GCash from the list of banks and wallets.
- Enter the amount and the account details, then tap Continue.
- Review the details and tap Transfer now.
- Wait for the in-app message confirming the transfer went through.
The guide ends with one line that matters: "InstaPay transfer fees and limits may apply." It does not say how much. We checked Maya's support pages on 19 September 2026. The page titled "Will I be charged for bank transfers via InstaPay?" (last updated 7 July 2026) lists PHP 10 for Maya Savings and says transfers from Maya Business Deposit are free until further notice. It does not mention the Maya Wallet. Maya also runs a program that gives cashback on some InstaPay transfers, but its support page only says that "monthly limits and program mechanics may apply", without numbers.
So the honest answer to "how much is Maya to GCash?" is that Maya does not publish one number for the wallet. The fee shows on the review screen before you tap Transfer now. That is the figure to trust.
The Limits That Stop a Transfer
A failed transfer usually has nothing to do with the app. One of these limits is the usual cause.
The InstaPay cap: PHP 50,000 per transfer. GCash's Help Center and Maya Support both give this figure, and BSP defines InstaPay as a system for payments of PHP 50,000 and below. Maya Support adds that you can make more than one transfer a day.
GCash's limits on money coming in. GCash's own table for incoming InstaPay transfers sets a daily limit of PHP 10,000 during the first two weeks after your first cash-in, then PHP 50,000. The monthly incoming limit is PHP 100,000 for a Fully Verified account and PHP 500,000 for GCash Plus. A big Maya-to-GCash transfer on a new account can bounce off the PHP 10,000 daily ceiling.

Maya's wallet limits. Maya's support pages we could open did not show the current wallet limits. Check them in the app under your account settings before a large transfer.
Above PHP 50,000: PESONet. GCash accepts PESONet cash-ins that "can be more than PHP 50,000", usually credited the next banking day. Maya's own explainer says both InstaPay and PESONet are available in the Maya app. PESONet is slower, so use it when the amount matters more than the speed.
Who Pays the Fee, and What BSP Changed in 2026
BSP Circular No. 1238, signed on 17 June 2026, changed how banks and e-wallets price person-to-person transfers. Two lines in it matter here:
- Fees for sending to another institution "should not materially differ" from fees for sending within the same institution, plus the cost of the switch that carries the transfer.
- "Recipients shall receive the full amount as credit to their accounts, free of any charges or deductions."
So the sender pays any fee, and the person receiving the money should see the full amount. GCash's fee drop to PHP 10 on 4 July 2026 came in the same period. Several banks went further and made interbank transfers free; our payment methods comparison covers the bank side.

Why Casino Players Move Money Between the Two Wallets
GCash and Maya no longer open casino games. GCash closed the gaming section of GLife at 8 PM on 16 August 2025 under BSP Memorandum No. M-2025-029, and Maya removed its gaming entries the same weekend. Players still move money between the two wallets for practical reasons:
- A licensed operator's cashier accepts one wallet but not the other. Deposits start on that cashier, not in the wallet app. Our GCash deposit guide explains what a real cashier integration looks like.
- A cash-out landed in one wallet and you want it in the other, or in a bank. Our GCash withdrawal guide covers that side.
- One wallet hit its monthly incoming limit and the other still has room.
Whichever wallet you use, send money only to a casino's own cashier. A "casino agent" who asks you to transfer to a personal GCash or Maya number is not a licensed operator's cashier. Our GCash vs Maya comparison covers which wallet suits which kind of player.
What This Page Cannot Tell You
- Maya Wallet's exact fee. Maya did not publish it on the pages we checked on 19 September 2026. We are not quoting figures from forums or news reports.
- Your personal limits. Both apps can set limits by account, and GCash shows yours under your profile. Check before a large transfer.
- Promotions. Free-transfer offers change often, and Maya's cashback program does not list its terms on its support page. Treat any free transfer as a bonus, not something to plan around.
